Graeme Crothall, founder of three hospital housekeeping companies, is back in
hospital facilities management. This time, however, he not only provides
superior execution, but also significant innovation over the way hospitals have
been cleaned for the past 40 years. Xanitos introduces
a reengineered patient cleaning room system, Xanitos Room Optimization™
(XRO), which utilizes cutting edge equipment and a flexible
team approach. XRO significantly improves productivity and
promises:
- A cleaner and safer environment for your patients, staff and visitors.
- Improved patient and employee satisfaction.
- Increased patient through-put.

The Xanitos Room Optimization™ (XRO) system utilizes a new, patent-pending system to clean patient rooms that reduces the risk of hospital acquired infections. Quiet, mobile, HEPA double filtered vacuums remove bacteria-carrying dust particles from the floor, vents and furniture surfaces. Redesigned cleaning carts keeps clean vs. dirty items apart. Single-use microfiber mops and germicidal wipes reduces the risk of spreading infections via the cleaning process.

The XRO system improves your patient through-put. Our
integrated carts and micro-fiber mops, coupled with our three-person teams
improve efficiency by eliminating trips to change out mop water. The XRO
teams are supplemented with floating housekeepers available to perform early
discharge cleans and answer all other calls for service. This ensures that the
teams will not be interrupted and we can predict accurately when they will
complete their allotted rooms. This predictability allows us to schedule the
right number of rooms to each team so that daily routine cleaning is completed
just prior to peak patient discharge time. The teams are then released to
perform discharge cleaning, resulting in lower discharge room turnaround times.

Patient satisfaction with housekeeping is directly related to the patient’s
awareness that their room has indeed been cleaned. This awareness, plus a
housekeeper who is visible and trained for meaningful patient interaction, will
increase patient satisfaction scores in third party surveys and HCAHPS. Our
Patient
Satisfaction Program focuses on positive interaction with patients
and ensures that they are well aware that their room has been thoroughly cleaned
each day. We give our teams extensive hospitality training. We also provide
patient ambassadors, a Freshen-Up Service, and other special touches.
