Michael Bailey has over 30 years of support services experience in the healthcare sector. His exposure to the cleaning industry started early as he worked for a janitorial service company while in high school.
In 1979, he joined Crothall Hospital Services as a housekeeping supervisor at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Within 12 months, Mike was managing the Children’s and Admitting Hospitals at this world renowned facility. This challenging assignment led to housekeeping manager positions at several hospitals in California ultimately resulting in promotion to Regional Manager. In this role, Mike was responsible for housekeeping services at numerous hospitals throughout Southern California.
In 1985, Michael joined Graeme Crothall to start Quornden, a new hospital support services company. It was during this time he started to gain extensive experience and knowledge in healthcare linen and laundry services. Quornden became the foundation of Marriott Facilities Management which today is operating as Sodexo Alliance. At the time Mike left the company he was serving as Vice President, West with responsibility for over $40 million in business.
In 1990, Michael worked primarily as a healthcare support services consultant in Canada prior to rejoining Graeme Crothall in 1991 to launch what is now Crothall Services Group. Serving in various capacities, throughout both the United States and Canada, Michael contributed heavily to the firm’s early rapid growth. In 1997, Mike took on a new challenge. As Senior Vice President, Crothall Laundry Services, he was tasked with developing and growing a healthcare laundry offering.
Michael’s leadership over the laundry service was impressive. His team grew the base business from $30 million to over $210 million in revenues during his tenure. At the time of Mike’s departure from Crothall Services Group, the laundry division represented nearly 25% of the Group’s total revenues.
As President and COO, Michael is responsible for all Xanitos' operations and corporate support to those operations.
